The name Aressana is derived from the script found at the Akrotiri excavations dating back to 1500 BC. Archaeologists believe this to be the name a young maiden that offered gifts to the Gods. Housed in a design by celebrated Greek architects, Thomas Gavalas and Dora Monioudi, Aressana has come to epitomize of the gracious hospitality that the Santorinian people are renowned for.
