Hotel Domus Aurea has brought this XVIII century villa to the ancient splendor of time ago, when it was a meeting place for the local nobility and travellers who were searching among the ancient ruins of Valley of the Temples for the myth of gods and the heroes of Magna Grecia. Along three centuries, the villa had numerous restorations, from those by the French architect Viollet Le Duc, inventor of the modern gothic style, to the more recent restructuration in the '70's, when it was transformed into the most refined restaurant in the city.

With today's rennovations and its transformation into a hotel, we have recreated the charm "d'antan", returning the structure to the discreet allure that Sicilian aristocracy loves to give country houses. Domus Aurea opens, in a romantic scenary, to travellers in search of a historic residence rather than an industrial hotel, where the respect for guests is equal to that offered to a dear friend who comes from a far away country.

The hotel derives its name from the archeological zone facing the property. It has 20 rooms (8 standard, 1 standard single, 7 superior (with a sea/temple view), 2 deluxe, and 2 junior suites) in the small tower, with a terrace where the view extends from the temples to the African sea).
